I started a class for chainstitch embroidery machine embroidery!
Whoa, you’ve done something big again! What kind of class is it?

I was a bit unsure at first, but I figured I’d just start and improve as I go. I set it up so people can take the class either at the my workshop or online!
That sounds pretty modern! What kind of classes are you offering?

First, I set up a free class to get beginners interested, and another class for people with a bit of experience!
Started a chainstitch embroidery machine class
I had always wanted to be a teacher at a cram school since I was a university student. I experienced several different jobs and had a wonderful encounter with a chainstitch embroidery machine machine.
As I wrote in my previous column, I have a strong desire to convey the appeal of embroidery and to increase the number of people involved in embroidery, especially those who want to learn the technique of chainstitch embroidery machine machines, which is becoming a kind of lost technology, and create works of art.
What made you decide to open a classroom?
Personally, I enjoy the act of learning something. I enjoy reading technical books and watching videos, and I also find learning from instructors to be very meaningful.
By learning and repeating the process, my skills improve and I feel very satisfied with the step-up I make as I am able to do things that I couldn't do before.
Until now, you had to go to school, read a lot of books, and spend a lot of money to learn. Recently, there has been a surge in video content on sites like YouTube, and we now see a lot of great, free content.
I feel that there are areas where it is most efficient to learn by simply watching and by actually learning with a teacher and repeating the process. I think these are areas where fine nuances are required and cannot be mechanized.
Personally, I think that chainstitch embroidery machine machines are a type of technology that falls into this category. You can find videos on YouTube, both domestic and international, but there seem to be almost no videos in Japanese that provide step-by-step instructions.
So, taking into account the above thoughts and the current situation, I thought I would give it a try at our store!
What kind of classroom is it?
In principle, I think it will be a one-on-one lesson. This is because chainstitch embroidery machine machines are very primitive embroidery machines, and they do not have memory or automatic sewing like modern sewing machines, so it is not easy to even reproduce the same settings.
Therefore, I think that the most important thing in the early stages is to get used to it. Chain stitch embroidery using a chainstitch embroidery machine machine allows you to create works that have the warmth that only analog can have, but since almost all of the work is analog, I think that you will learn things like ``this is how you do it'' and ``this is the best way to do it at this time'' through experience.
In other words, there is a clear difference in experience between someone who has touched it for a day, someone who has touched it for 10 days, someone who has touched it for 100 days, or someone who has touched it for a year, so I think this will have an impact on the work.
So, first of all, I would like to create courses that will interest inexperienced and beginners, as well as courses that will allow those with a certain amount of experience to take the next step.
Classroom Type
- Beginners' class: 30 minutes free
- Classes for experienced people: 60 minutes, 3,000 yen
- Classes for experienced people (online zoom) 60 minutes 3,000 yen
